Australian Medical Journal gives Vegetarian the big tick

The Australian Medical Journal has just published a report titled ‘A plant-based diet — good for us and for the planet’. It is a peer reviewed article written by well known nutritionist and author Rosemary Stanton. Rosemary also points out that this is a sustainability issue, “Feeding and greening the world requires a fresh look at plant foods”. You can hear an ABC interview with her here.

This months MJA Open also addresses a number of the concerning questions that non-veg people have. You know the ones.. Protein, Iron, Zinc, B12, Omega-3… Here they are:

So when the doctor mandates that you ought to eat meat you can ask what they thought about what the MJA said and how can I have an alternative recommendation that will look after my health better than the meat option, thank you very much! 🙂
And there has been a lot of media interest in this good news (now isn’t that a change)
