Holistic food garden health planet

Well, its quite a mouthful but how do you say what all the interlinked pieces are?

All these parts of our lives (and more) are linked and rawlao aims to bring these into our attention and into action as we enjoy the veg cooking workshop.

With the new theme of elegant vegetarian dining we prepared entree, main and dessert.

Still aiming to be simple to prepare and adding some artistic flair. Someone commented “I think my kids would like this”, when the main was presented. We had three teams doing the dishes.

After a walk through the earthcare garden we came back with some inspirations for the preparation; pomegranates just ripe, some elderberry and choko leaves ready for decoration. It was lovely to walk through the garden after a good dose of rain. The place has been so dry and hot in recent months and now the garden was soaking up the rain and looking happy.

As usual we all had a fun time doing the preparation and sitting down together to share the meal. We went around the table to get a report on how preparing each of the dishes played out. “Doing just one dish and working on the presentation was fun”. Tips like; “when doing rice balls make sure your hands are wet and squeeze love in to your rice ball”. It is good to know your diners preferences for how soft they like their rice. One cup of rice to one cup of water, gives are firmer cooked rice or you can go for a softer finish by doing one cup of rice to one and half cups of water.

Next Class 15th March

We have special request for crepes with custard and berries and we will give that a go using gluten free flour.

We will also have the lunch just next door in the artist gallery. Hmm, lunch surrounded by beautiful art and cool music and be joined by a couple of the artists in residence.
